How to get followers on Instagram
Keep getting likes but your follow count isn’t going up? Then you might just be approaching instagram the wrong way. Here are our tips to instagram success!
Obviously great posts can help make your instagram account a big hit. Think up what you want your account to be about, whether it’s your daily antics or your favourite food. Whatever you want your account to be make sure you’re really interested in what you’re posting and chances are the posts will end up looking great and offering something people can relate to.
Posting frequently can be a challenge, thinking up content is not always easy, especially when you feel you’ve used up all your best ideas. However posting frequently is a great way for you to get creative with your posts and to learn from your audience and find out the type of posts they prefer. It also keeps your audiences attention and makes sure they don’t forget you, or worse, unfollow you!
If you’re big into instagram you’ll probably have noticed by now that the most successful accounts seem to have regular posts showing content based around the same theme. The more specific the better. This could be anything from only posting sketched logos to posting cats photos. The idea being that followers know just what to expect from you and that by following you they’ll see more posts in the same style as something you’ve posted that they liked. Make sense?
Respond to comments
If someone takes the time to comment on your post it’s only fair to write them back. A quick thank you really helps push that community feeling and makes the user feel great, as well as potentially encouraging them to like something else you’ve posted or even follow you. If you’re feeling particularly sociable you can check out their posts and potentially like something they’ve posted.
Follow others for inspiration
Stuck on what to post? Well what is everyone else posting? As unique as you want your account to be chances are there’s someone out there posting similar stuff. Follow others and use their posts as inspiration for yours! This doesn’t mean copy them, no-one likes a thief! But you can look at their ideas for posts and see if it helps you think up a new approach to your own, giving your own creativity a bit of a push!
Be part of the community
Great content is one thing but if you’re not part of the community we can almost guarantee your like and follow counts aren’t that high. Instagram is about more than just great posts, it’s about sharing and being involved with the wider community. The more you’re involved the more followers you’ll have. You can do this by posting using popular instagram hashtags such as #throwbackthursdays. This hashtag is used on … a Thursday and used on posts showing something from the past such as an old photo of you or product that used to be popular. Other great community hashtags include:
