How to remove spots and blemishes in Photoshop
Wish you’d had a better complexion in your holiday photos?
Here’s how to remove those spots, highlights and blemishes.
Open the photo you’d like to tweak in Photoshop. We’ve used a photo of part of a girls face with a few blemishes on that we’re going to remove.
Removing spots in Photoshop. The main tool for this is the ‘Spot Healing Brush Tool’, this is your best friend.
Select this tool and hover your cursor over a spot. Click once and the spot will disappear! Keep doing this until all spots are gone.
THE RESULT SO FAR
So this is what it looks like so far. All the spots are gone and we’re left with beautiful clean skin.
In many cases this might be enough and you look great. However there is more we can do with this photo. Lets remove the light on the cheek and the purpose line wrinkle.
Select the Patch tool in your toolbar. This can be reached by clicking and holding on the Spot Healing Tool Brush icon. A drop-down menu will appear and then simply select the Patch tool.
Draw around the area you would like to remove with your cursor in one click and hold movement. Once you release your click the line you drew will look like the one shown below.
A great blemish free photo! Perfect.
Click and hold on the section and drag down to an area you would like it to look like. You will see that the problem area changes to match.
When you are satisfied release your click and the image will update.
(If it doesn’t look right simply press ‘command’ and ‘z’ on your keyboard at the same time to undo.

Lastly, lets make the wrinkle line less harsh using the Stamp Tool.
Select the Stamp Tool just below the patch and spot healing icon. Select part of the image you would like your section to look like, so in our case a section of smooth skin. Whilst holding down the ‘alt’ key click on the area.
Now go over to your problem area and whilst holding down your click wipe your cursor over the area. It will start to disappear. Keep doing this until the wrinkle has disappeared!
THE FINAL RESULT
So here we have it, the same beautiful face as before but minus a few spots, wrinkles and unflattering glares.
The more you practice the better you will get and using these tools and more uses you will find them for!
